From the multi-award winning Rossendale Winery, Waipapa Bay Sauvignon Blanc
is a superb example of its type. Designed specifically for the consumer through a partnership between Dr. Arabella Woodrow, Master of Wine at Broadlands and our New Zealand producer.
In 1987 husband and wife team, Brent and Shirley Rawstron, planted three hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on the banks of the Halswell River in Canterbury, New Zealand. Then in 2004 they ventured into Marlborough and today this family-owned winery grows internationally recognised award-winning varieties across 100 acres of vineyards in the Rapaura area of the Wairau Valley.

As custodians of this unique place, Brent and Shirley understand their responsibility to enhance the environment by implementing sustainable vineyard practices that will preserve and enhance the land for generations to come.

Passionate about the place in which they live, and their roles as environmental custodians, Brent and Shirley are skilled winemakers with a philosophy founded on holistic winemaking, blending exceptional terroir focused wines. The Rossendale farm, in the Wairau Valley, benefits from five distinctly different terroirs with a continental climate, which combined enhance the characteristic aromas and flavours of the grape varieties. With an emphasis on primary fruit characteristics, each wine is carefully blended to ensure they can be enjoyed with food or on their own at any time of day.
Broadland Wineries is proud to have been working closely with Brent and Shirley since 2012 when we launched the multi-award winning Waipapa Bay Sauvignon Blanc into the UK market. Dr Arabella Woodrow, Master of Wine at Broadland Wineries has been working closely with Brent and Shirley to develop more wines due for release in 2018.
This delightful Sauvignon Blanc showcases the skill & passion of the producer with its intense aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit & passion fruit, beautifully balanced with crisp aromatic flavours and hints of citrus. Delicious with shellfish, chicken, grilled vegetable dishes & fresh green salads.
