We sipped, swirled, explored, discovered, talked, laughed, made friends and reconnected with old faces. What a fantastic three days!
Always an exciting time for us, the Wine Fair provided the perfect opportunity to showcase our brand new On
launches, award-winners, taste some new blends and discuss with the rest of the trade some of the exciting things to expect over the next 18 months.
Our Wine Director Arabella Woodrow M.W was there to talk through the wines on offer, and provide some food matching advice for those restaurants and bars looking for something specific. Andy Bailey and Graham Hallworth (National Sales Managers) looked after our On-trade
visitors taking them through a sample of our portfolio, and also introduced visitors to our private label
wines and artist collaborations. In our Off-trade
area, our National Account Managers, Louisa Wild and Scott Thomson presented some new concepts and new launches to our retal clients with Pouch, Can, 18.7cl and Bag-in-box always a hit.
It was “Lights, Camera, Action” on Day 1 as we created a short ‘Meet the Team
’ video, allowing some of our colleagues to tell us a little about what we do and what they love. Our Christmas gift wines generated a lot of interest, and our wine partners te Pā
checked in all the way from New Zealand to send people our way as we introduced visitors to their 800-year old Maori heritage and recent medal wins.
We also took the time to showcase our brand new Burgundy On-trade range with our partners Jean Bouchard.
These exquisite wines are the first Burgundian wines we have launched and we had a feeling they would be popular. It was then off to the first of the show’s Industry Insight discussions, where a panel of invited guests took us through their thoughts on innovation, which is always a favourite topic of ours.
Day 2 was a flurry of excitement as Minivino
tasting samples were snapped up and sipped. “Small but Mighty” was the caption for the day as visitors came to find out more about this Italian glass-free, re-sealable, shatterproof range of single serve wines. Many were impressed by the architectural construction of a 7 layer Minivino tower standing pride of place on the stand.
On day 3 we touched based with the IWSR to hear about the trends in the sector and what we can look forward to, and met up with some of our talented winemakers to discuss new vintages and blends. Elise Earl (East Anglian Sales Manager) also took a moment to showcase the recent work completed in collaboration with Norwich venues, local artists and our in-house designers.
Then before we knew it, it was over! We packed up, toasted another enjoyable and very successful fair and headed back to sunny Norfolk. A whirlwind 3 days meeting you all. Huge thanks to everyone who popped along and to the London Wine Fair team for hosting another great event.
See you again in 2018 and if you didn’t catch up with us at the fair do get in touch
