From the multi award-winning Rossendale Winery, our Waipapa Bay range is an example of New Zealand wine and wine making at its finest. Through a partnership between Dr. Arabella Woodrow, Master of Wine at Broadland Wineries and our New Zealand producer Rossendale, we have created a range that achieves a rare balance of high quality and affordability.
In 1987 husband and wife team, Brent and Shirley Rawstron, planted three hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on the banks of the Halswell River in Canterbury, New Zealand. Then in 2004 they ventured into Marlborough and today this family-owned Business grows internationally recognised award-winning varieties across 100 acres of vineyards in the Rapaura area of the Wairau Valley.

Broadland Wineries is proud to have been working closely with Brent and Shirley since 2012 when we launched the multi award-winning Waipapa Bay Sauvignon Blanc
into the UK market. Dr Arabella Woodrow, Master of Wine at Broadland Wineries has collaborated with these excellent wine makers to develop our new range of wines that we’re immensely proud of.
Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough.
Our flagship wine perfectly encapsulates all the qualities that have made this grape and wine such a modern-day powerhouse. Each vineyard block is harvested and fermented separately in temperature-controlled tanks to ensure purity. As fermentation is completed the resulting wines are assessed and carefully blended. Citrus and stone fruit flavours combine with bright acidity to make a harmonious, delicious glass of wine. Served chilled, this wine is an ideal accompaniment to fish, creamy pasta sauces and poultry dishes. This wine is available at Ocado
Although Marlborough is best known for Sauvignon Blanc, the Chardonnays from this region are equally noteworthy. Vibrant grapefruit and lime flavours are overlaid with subtle vanilla notes from light oak exposure, further enhanced by the malolactic fermentation, ensuring creamy, fruit driven flavours. Served chilled, this wine is perfect with poultry, veal, cheese-based pasta dishes and cheese boards.
Pinot Gris Marlborough
. New Zealand’s cooler, maritime climate is ideal for Alsatian-inspired, unctuous, beautifully complex Pinot Gris wines. Pinot Gris is now the third most popular white variety in New Zealand and our wine highlights all the intense, lingering flavours, gentle acidity and marked freshness that have made this varietal so beloved in it’s native country. This wine is a superb accompaniment to Asian dishes, but also makes for an excellent apéritif.
Pinot Rosé Canterbury.
Twenty-four hours of skin contact produce a subtle wine with a beautiful pale salmon hue. This elegant rosé has aromas of summer fruits with hints of rose petals and dash of spice. It has a long, lingering palate with refreshing notes of raspberries and strawberries. This wine will match excellently with white meat, grilled fish dishes and sunshine.
