Broadland launches low-calorie, lighter-alcohol TrimVin

Friday 15 September 2017

Broadland Wineries is launching TrimVin, a new range of low-calorie and lighter-alcohol wines aimed at the Off-Trade. Available in a red, white and rosé, this British wine is sold in a 187ml single-serve format, contains less than 100 calories and has just 8.0% alcohol content. The range will retail at RRP £1.25.

According to Arabella Woodrow, MW at Broadland Wineries,

“Lower alcohol, lower calorie, wines are becoming an increasingly important part of the retail offer as consumers seek a healthier lifestyle. With TrimVin, we focused on developing a great tasting wine which we then combined with approachable, easy to remember branding, and strong in-store shelf visibility.”

At the end of last year, Mintel released statistics showing that a third of Brits are making a conscious effort to reduce or limit their alcohol intake, with over half drinking less alcohol than in previous years, and 41% of those choosing to limit their alcohol intake have done so to lose or avoid gaining weight (Mintel, statistics from 12 months running up to November 2016). The introduction of TrimVin builds on this growing trend.
