Established in 2011 and renowned as the Oscars of the Norfolk food industry, the EDP Norfolk Food and Drink Awards
recognises and celebrates regional excellence in the Food and Drink Industry, identifying our regional superstars and celebrating the key people, innovation, education, and local food and drink production across the sector.
This is our fourth year sponsoring
the Outstanding Front of House category and each year the bar is raised across the region. As a category it recognises this often overlooked yet extremely important sector of the hospitality industry and allows us to recognise, reward and celebrate those who truly understand and demonstrate consistent excellence in this area.
A personable approach, excellent knowledge of menus and dishes, provenance of ingredients, drink matching, and the ability to create a truly memorable experience whilst ensuring a customer feels valued and important, were just some of the things we looked for. Selecting the top three was tough! But, following some very delicious and memorable visits to this year’s nominations, we are thrilled to have found three fantastic finalists:
Now well into its second year of business and recently refurbished with their customers in mind, Benedicts underpins its sensational menu with outstanding table service and attention to detail. An inspiring combination of innovative technology with classic table service. Front of house at this superb restaurant adds the highest level of polish to an exceptional dining experience.
From start to finish, Brasted’s service experience and class shines through, in the way each and every customer is treated from the moment they are welcomed at the door, through to the end of their meal. Our judges were hugely impressed with overall cleanliness, ambience and table service throughout. Attentive, but never obtrusive staff, who clearly have an excellent service ethic and sense of pride in their work.
A new entry this year, our judges were delighted with their visit to the Wildebeest and struggled to find fault with their front of house. The table service they received was exemplary, from start to finish, supported by a well laid out and impeccably maintained, exterior and interior. The front of house fully supports and enhances a customer’s dining experience by doing justice to the wonderful food on offer.
The winner will be announced later this evening (Monday 11th September) at the Norfolk Food & Drink Awards 2017 which will be held at Open, Norwich. Our team will be there to celebrate with our region's top finds and a selection of our award-winning wines will served to the nominees, judges, winners and guests alike.
